Siam Park City
Siam Park City is Bangkok’s biggest water park, and it is also the oldest. Located on the outskirts of the capital, to the north-east of the downtown area, it is been in operation since as far back as 1980. That means that some parts of the park are looking a little more worn-in than you might expect from more recent openings, but Siam Park City is nevertheless a great place for a day out.
And make sure you really do allow yourself a full day with several distinct zones, this place is huge and there is no end of slides, pools and non-water-based rides to get a thrill from.
Dream World
Just an hour and a half from Bangkok, you will get to Bangkok's all-time classic Dream World. The “World of Happiness” has rides and fun activities for everyone. With over 40 thrill and gentle rides, Dream World lets you live your childhood dream.
Go fast and furious around the outer space with the roller coaster Space Mountain. Fly and spin high in the sky with hurricane. Take Instagram-worthy shots at the Giant House and Love Garden. Escape the heat into the locals’ favorite Snow Town. And of course, enjoy various shows around the park and the afternoon parade.
Safari World
While Safari World is not actually a ‘theme’ park, in the sense that it is not home to roller coasters, you can still look forward to an action-packed day. The clue is in the name.
Safari World offers a variety of entertaining animal shows including a bird show, a dolphin show, a sea lion show and even an orang-utan boxing show. That is not all, there are also several attractions where you can get up close and personal with the animals. Catch the Jungle Walk and Marine Park, where you can watch a White Tiger Show and take a cruise through the jungles of Asia and Africa on the back of a log flume.
LINE Village Bangkok
This is the kind of ‘theme park’ that could only possible be in Asia and especially in Thailand, with its love of the cartoon emoji-like sticker characters (known as LINE Friends) synonymous with the regionally-popular LINE messaging app.
Located inside Siam Square One shopping mall in the downtown Siam neighbourhood, LINE Village Bangkok is billed as the place where your favourite LINE Friends characters come to life. Expect a host of different interactive setups featuring characters from the app, with particular prominence given to selfie opportunities.
Cartoon Network Amazone
More than the world-class high-speed water slides and massive pools, Cartoon Network Amazone is home to all the characters that you love. Get up close and personal with your Cartoon Network friends from Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, Ben 10 and many more. It is currently the only water park in the world where you can meet them. Combining with spectacular live stunt shows and multimedia entertainment, Cartoon Network Amazone is an amazing place for the whole family.
Jurassic Water Park
This place is totally incredible. It is one of Thailand’s newest theme parks, which takes on a dinosaur theme throughout the park, clever name huh?
Located less than an hour away from the centre of Bangkok, Jurassic Water Park is definitely worth a visit. It is a friendly-family place and suitable for all ages. Made from giant inflatables, all of which are surrounded by water, you can bounce, slip and slide your way through huge obstacle courses. There are also life size replica dinosaurs dotted throughout the park, which actually move and make noises. Catch a show and dine in one of the many restaurants inside the park.
