Anisakan waterfall
This breathtaking waterfall is around 120m high. To put this into perspective, the puny niagara falls are only around 50m high. Just getting damp in the spray is enough to feel the power of these falls.
Dee Dote Falls
Famed for having mineral-rich, bright blue waters, Dee Dote (Dee Doke) Falls are a relatively new spot to waterfall hop. Situated about an hour’s drive from Mandalay and a two-hour motorbike ride from Pyin Oo Lwin in the Shan Highlands, Dee Dote definitely takes some effort to find. But, it is an ideal destination for travelers sticking around the area for a few days.
Start early and plan for a full day to do Dee Dote and nearby Anisakan Falls. Renting a motorbike to get there from Pyin Oo Lwin will likely be the cheapest option; however, venturing to Dee Dote from Mandalay is quite common as well.
Pwe Kauk Waterfalls
These are a small, picturesque waterfalls located close to Pyin Oo Lwin, is a 20-minute drive out of town along the Mandalay-Lashio main road in the Hsipaw direction. Though not as mighty as the Anisakan Falls, they are definitely more accessible. They also double as a romantic picnic spot, along with a small playground and merry go round for the kids. Ideal to visit to kill a couple of hours.
Nam Tok Falls
Nam Tok (Nam Tuk) Falls, also referred to as Hsipaw Falls, are found approximately three miles from Hsipaw in northern Shan State. Renting a bicycle or walking to reach Nam Tok is recommended. Bike rentals in Hspiaw are quite cheap.
Take the main Mandalay-Lashio Highway out of Hsipaw, towards Pyin Oo Lwin, and then follow a bike-friendly dirt track to the hilly escape. Nam Tok gushes into a small but deep pool at the bottom. Jump in to cool off after the effort it takes to get there.
Haipa waterfall
Haipa is discovered recently. People say it can be the biggest waterfall in Asia. It is located in 12 miles away from Mine Shuu (Burmese term) city in the southern shan state. Unfortunately, this waterfall is in the limited area. But, it is potential to become a new destination soon.
Lawpita waterfall
If you love the emerald green colour water, Law Pe Taw is the right choice for you. This emerald waterfall has three layers. It is located Loikaw city of Kaya state. You must face with some inconvenience because of this place is the limited area.
