Instead of trying typical Banh mi, this Banh mi thit nuong will give you a new taste of banh mi. Meat is grilled in charcoal, flipped with chopsticks, and coated in a sauce that smelled and tasted nearly like a yakitori sauce. First appeared in 1999 and located in Nguyen Huy Tu street (District 1), this is one of the first dried-beef banh mi stalls in Sai Gon. The best thing makes people come to taste this amazing banh mi is the recipe of cooking home-made dried-beef by owner. This banh mi includes dried-beef, laksa leaves, mint leaves and special sauce.

5. Banh mi pha lau (Offal stew)
Pha lau, or offal stew is an exotic street food commonly found in Saigon, is an offal stew filled with pig or cow innards and cooked with herbs and seasoning in a way similar to curry, although not as spicy. What makes this dish unique is the chewy pieces which are yet soft enough to melt in your mouth.
