Tianjin is a good example of a mixture of Chinese and Western features.     It is the "Bund" in Tianjin, a nice place to walk around and enjoy the fine architectures and bridges along the Haihe River. It is right opposite the Tianjin Railway Station.

    Many people go there to relax. Walking along the Haihe River towards the Tianjin Eye or taking a river cruise is fabulous. You can see the locals fishing in the river, go swimming or watch wedding couples taking their photos with the European style buildings as a backdrop. In winter, when the river is frozen, you can go skating there. The night view with its colorful lights is especially charming.

    At over 1,360 feet (414 meters), this is one of the tallest freestanding towers in the world. The top of this tower allows for a full 360-degree panoramic view of Tianjin, which also boasts its own revolving restaurant. Constructed in 1991, this futuristic structure is another under-appreciated spectacle of Tianjin. Photographers and Instagrammers will love it.

    The Five Great Avenues is a parallel street from east to west named under five cities of southwest China, namely Chongqing, Chengdu, Dali, Munan and Machang. This area has earned a reputation as a “World Building Exposition”, a truly unique cityscape in Tianjin city. There are over 230 buildings of all kinds from the architecture of Britain, France, Italy, Germany and Spain, as well as over 50 houses ever been lived by celebrities. You could either take a horse-drawn carriage or walk down the avenues to appreciate the architecture and experience the local life.

    The Eye of Tianjin, Tianjin Yongle Ferris Wheel, is the only Ferris wheel in the world which is built on a bridge. On the Ferris wheel, you can enjoy a 360 degree view of Tianjin for a 30-minute ride, from the center of the river.

    It is a good place to kill an hour and take some photos. The Ferris wheel looks still but it is actually moving at an extremely slow pace. It is said that every box inside is filled with love. When you and your loved one sit inside, your love increases as you get higher up.

    Italian Style Street is a tourist resort with Italian style in Tianjin city. It was formerly known as the only concession outside of Italy, and now is a unique large Italian-style building in Asia.

    For the unique location, the Xin Yi Street is merged with different cultures. It is worth a visit on a nice day for stroll and something to eat or drink at the many street side cafes, people watch, small number of market stalls. A visit here will remain you of Shanghai, or could be a taste of Europe in China.

  • Shi Family Courtyard

    Shi Family Courtyard is located in the Yangliuqing town, which is the former residence of Shi Yuanshi. First built in 1875, it has thousands of land and 500 houses. It is made up of 12 ancient-style quadrangle courtyards on both sides of a 60-meter-long road and a few additional elegant pavilions, pools and gardens. The architectural style and all the decorations fully represent the folk culture and custom of the late Qing Dynasty and show the 200-year-long history of the Shi Family in Yangliuqing.

    Now it serves as the folk custom museum in Yangliuqing which has a large collection of folk art pieces like Yangliuqing New Year pcitures, brick sculpture.
