Taiwanese sausage
Taiwanese sausage is a very popular street food. If you want to eat like locals and with locals, you can gobble it up with raw garlic bites on the side. The sweetness and fattiness of sausage go perfectly with garlic, which will satisfy your stomach. You can find a sausage stand in many night markets in Taipei.
Pork blood cake
Pork blood cake is the combination between sticky rice and pork blood. The rice is drenched in pig blood, steamed, bathed in a pork soy broth and rolled with peanut flour. Cilantro is put on top of this cake.
Grilled corn
The grilled corn is ripe but not dried, served with sauces with a unique Taiwanese recipe, strangely taste but delicious. However, the price of a corn is a little expensive, about 78 TWD / grilled corn. Best grilled corn can be found at Raohe Night Market.
Beef noodle soup
Beef noodle soup is a Taiwanese noodle soup made of stewed or red braised beef, beef broth, vegetables and Chinese noodles. This Taiwnese soup assures to have all the features of flavourful broth, tender meat and chewy noodles. Noodle soup in Taiwan has two types. The first one is a bowl of noodle with heavy and spicy red broth and the other one is with a light and fragnant clear broth.
Dimsum
If you visit Taipei, you should try this dish at least once. Price is not very cheap but also worth to try. This is the most famous Xiao Long Bao (Xiaolongbao is a type of Chinese steamed bun) chain in Taiwan. Renowned by the super thin crust cake, dumplings tasty and steamed to medium, so every bite pieces that is submerged in your teeth and sweet meat tasty pieces.
Grilled squid
All the squids selected to grilled are fat, fresh, grilled on charcoal with require that the squid meat remains fresh, not dry. You can eat with original taste or eat with the sauce spread on the squid body. The best grilled squid can be found at the night market along the Tamsui River. Take the MRT to Tamsui station and take 5 minutes to walk.
