Galaxy Soho (Beijing)
The Galaxy Soho project in central Beijing for SOHO China is a 330,000m2 office, retail and entertainment complex that will become an integral part of the living city, inspired by the grand scale of Beijing. Its architecture is a composition of five continuous, flowing volumes that are set apart, fused or linked by stretched bridges. These volumes adapt to each other in all directions, generating a panoramic architecture without corners or abrupt transitions that break the fluidity of its formal composition.
Linked Hybrid/ Steven Holl Architects (Beijing)
An architect named Steven Holl has completed Linked Hybrid, a mixed-use complex of eight linked towers in Beijing. This is a series of multi-functional "skybridges" connect the eight residential towers and the hotel tower. The project promotes interactive relations and encourages encounters in the public spaces that vary from commercial, residential, and educational to recreational. The entire complex is a three-dimensional urban space in which buildings on the ground, under the ground and over the ground are fused together.
Shanghai Bund Financial Centre (Shanghai)
Bund Finance Centre is a prominent new mixed-use development close to the Shanghai waterfront and has been designed jointly by Foster, partners and Heatherwick Studio. Construction began in 2010 and was completed in 2016. It is positioned in a significant and prominent position within the Bund being at the culmination of the Zhongshan Road and links the old town with the new financial district.
CCTV Headquarters (Beijing)
CCTV Headquarters was originally featured in the 2008 and OMA recently held the official construction completion ceremony, as featured in the CTBUH Global News, after more than eight years of work. It was recognized as the overall "Best Tall Building Worldwide" and "Best Tall Building Asia & Australasia" in 2013. The tower redefines the form of the skyscraper, with the primary system comprised of a continuous structural tube of columns, beams and braces around the entire skin of the building.
National Stadium (Beijing)
Also known as the Bird's Nest Stadium, the National Stadium is located in the capital Beijing of China. The stadium was jointly designed by many famous architects. The design, which originated from the study of Chinese ceramics, implemented steel beams in order to hide supports for the retractable roof; giving the stadium the appearance of a bird's nest.
Soho Bund International (Shanghai)
Shanghai's historic promenade along the Huangpu River, Soho Bund is located in a center between the historic and new bund. The architecture has a very strong linear form with an East-West alignment creating tight internal courtyards and triangular exterior landscape spaces providing a challenging circulation system. The mall and office circulation are delineated circulation paths became the dominant driver of landscape design. The stepped architectural footprint conceals the retail entries making the wayfinding in the landscape an important element of the design.
China Art Museum Expo (Shanghai)
China Art Museum located in Shanghai is one of the largest museums in Asia. Twenty-seven exhibition halls are mainly distributed among the 49-meter floor, the 41-meter floor, the 33-meter floor and the 0-meter floor. A top-down visiting route is recommended.
Guangzhou Opera House (Guangzhou)
The Guangzhou Opera House by Zaha Hadid Architects has opened in Guangdong province, China. Shaped to resemble two pebbles on the bank of the Pearl River, the building houses a 1,800-seat theatre plus 400-seat multifunctional hall, rehearsal rooms and an entrance hall. As the heart of Guangzhou's cultural sites development, Guangzhou Opera House tends to create an interrelation between the natural landscape and architecture.
