Lemongue - lemon meringues
Hiroshima is known for its citrus and these lemon meringues capture the full flavor of Hiroshima’s famous lemons. They use real lemons from the Tobishima Kaido region and limit the sugar content as much as possible. They also make strawberry, blueberry, yuzu and mikan orange meringues.
Ginger syrup
This was created by local farmers in Hiroshima who traditionally drank the syrup as a way to stave off colds and illnesses. All the syrups are made with Hiroshima ginger. You can mix the syrup in almost anything - be it alcoholic drinks, soy milk or even just in hot water.
Rice scoop paddle
Check out this famous rice scoop paddle, a speciality of Miyajima in Hiroshima Prefecture. Not only can these rice scoop paddles be used to scoop rice, but they can also be used as a decorative item or as a good-luck charm. You can also engrave the name of the person you are giving this to, making it a meaningful gift for your loved ones.
Folded paper cranes
The paper cranes are the most popular souvenir among overseas visitors. Each crane is hand-folded, meaning no two cranes are the same. The paper crane has long been a part of Japanese culture and today it is associated with ‘peace’. You can see the thousands of paper cranes that arrive in the Peace Memorial Park at the Children’s Peace Monument.
Cream bread
The cream bread from Hattendō took roughly three years to develop. The ingredients were precisely chosen, and the recipes use absolutely no essences, nor liqueurs. For this reason, you can really taste the natural flavors of egg yolk and fresh cream. The dough is fluffy and light.
Gokusa manju
The dough wrappers of Gokusa manju from Heiando Umetsubo are tightly packed with concentrated sweet bean jam goodness. A topping of roasted walnuts provides an additional accent.
Lemon juice water mask
This product uses an essence that contains lemon juice and distilled water as its main ingredients and will give your skin plenty of moisture. No fragrance has been used in order to make it safe for everyone to use, but you can smell a faint lemon scent after opening the seal on the packaging. One box comes with three masks inside, so it would be great to give them out as souvenirs or use them during your trip to treat your skin.
