ION Orchard
Over 330 stores, eight levels, all encompassed within an award-winning freeform design, the ION Orchard is one of Singapore's newest retail centers and possibly its most cutting-edge one.
The interior covers over 60,000 sqm of retail space featuring some of the world's most exclusive brands, including six flagship stores, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. The interior also includes a 5,600 sq ft gallery space operated by ION Art, the mall's dedicated art program.
Tangs
Tangs is one of the oldest department stores in Orchard Road, having been established way back in 1932. The distinctive Chinese-designed exterior of Tangs has evolved into a modern Asian lifestyle store that has found fame with international visitors.
Tangs' Beauty Hall stocks well-known brands and its homeware section comprises Asian collectables, gifts, and decorative items appeal to visitors looking for unique souvenirs to take home. For tropical fashion wear, visit the Island Shop on the second level for its range of cool cotton and casual wear to take you from the beach to the barbeque.
Orchard Central
One of the more quirkily-designed malls in the district, Orchard Central offers visitors an artistic experience along with their shopping. Take one famous escalator, digital art adorning the exterior and a multitude of installations peppered inside, Orchard Central goes above and beyond to blend retail with visual statements. The lower levels of the mall offer many high-street fashion labels, while the higher levels bring you to a good number of restaurants and bars.
Ngee Ann City
Ngee Ann City (Takashimaya) is something of a shopping centre landmark on Orchard Road, having delivered brand names, book stores, beauty parlours, and restaurants to well-heeled shoppers since the last couple of decades. The mall boasts an art and creativity section and the Takashimaya department store over 7 levels.
There is much more to Ngee Ann City than designer brands and dining. Takashimaya Square is frequently home to market style bazaars and shopping events, whilst outside the complex Civic Plaza hosts events accommodating up to 3,000 people. Concerts, fashion shows, and carnivals regularly take place at this giant semi-circle which forms part of Ngee Ann City.
313@Somerset
Connected to Orchard Central is another fashion forward mall, 313@Somerset. It becomes an extremely popular mall that offers an array of big name items in streetwear, sneakers, jewellery and bags. One key reason for its popularity, especially among fashion-savvy folks, is its constant sales and deals throughout the year. So if you are thinking of scoring a bargain, this is the spot to be at. For those looking for a bite after all that shopping, this mall is also filled with a wide variety of food options, from hipster cafes to commercial fast-food restaurants.
