The Jaraseom Singsing Winter Festival is famous for ice fishing for trout, and your catch can be eaten right away, raw or grilled. Other activities include ice sledding, riding bumper cars on snow, traditional experiences, and more. It is easy to reach Gapyeong simply by taking the ITX Cheongchun train from Yongsan Station. There are also popular attractions nearby such as Namiseom Island, The Garden of Morning Calm, and Petite France.

The Herb Island Light & Fairy Tale Story Festival
This festival is similar to The Garden of the Morning Calm Lighting Festival in that the focal point is the beautiful, twinkling LED lights, but the Herb Island festival also features hundreds of Santas that gather in Santa’s Village to add an additional holiday element to the festival.
If you don’t get in the holiday spirit until you see the jolly old man in red, this is definitely the festival for you. The island is also home to a number of spas and luxurious getaways, so make a weekend out of it and relax while you ease yourself into winter.

Everland Christmas Fantasy
The Christmas Fantasy festival at Everland celebrates the upcoming holidays with bright, illuminating decorations along with endless carol music.
The highlight of this year’s event is the “White X-mas Parade” with fluttering artificial snow dancing to the carols. The parade will take place once a day beginning Nov 18 starring Everland’s mascots and Christmas characters such as Santa and Rudolph. Special performances will also be available during the event.
